Detroit’s Michigan Central Station Through The Years

Detroit’s Michigan Central Station is set to reopen for the first time in 36 years.

The Detroit News shared that “After sunset Monday, ‘06.06.24’ could be seen from Michigan Avenue on the facade of the station that first opened its doors over a century ago.”

Ford Motor Company purchased the property over 6 years ago from the Moroun Family, and got to work immediately. Ford then allowed tours of the historic facility, and gave everyone a chance to see what it looked like before the true full renevations were started.

Reps for MCS issued a statement to The Detroit News, saying the following:

“We know Detroit and the world are eager to see how we’ve brought Michigan Central Station back to life. We are excited to show the first glimpse of the station on June 6, 2024, as we open its doors once again.”

While we wait for that historic day to come, let’s look back on some of the documented pieces captured by ACRONYM of Michigan Central Station over the years, with the photo gallery provided by Ami Nicole ACRONYM.
