I’ve been waiting to try Chloe’s Tomato Soup at Madame ZuZu’s, so when I knew I’d be heading to Chicago over the weekend, I made it a vow to stop in!

Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins and Fashion Designer Chloe Mendel created a plant-based tea shop that is known for its rare and exclusive blends of teas. The brick and mortar location, located in Highland Park, Illinois has an art deco-styled space, described as having the vibe of a 1930s tea salon. This area serves as both a cafe as well as a performance area for local talent.
Out of the food, in particular, I’d seen multiple posts about Chloe’s Tomato Soup so naturally, I threw down on that, as well as the Insane Grilled Cheese. Both were amazing and if I hadn’t been full, I’d have wanted seconds!
The shop also contained tons of gifts and trinkets, records, vintage items, and of course, some SP merch and ZuZu’s merch. There are also limited edition prints of some unseen or rare images of Smashing Pumpkins for sale in which Billy has an agreement with some of the photographers who photographed them over the years.
The final rarity: the ZuZuMatic – a photo booth that turns you into the glam of yesteryear, which also serves as a keepsake to your experience.
If you’re in the Chicago, Illinois area and you are into music-adjacent things and awesome beverages, stop in! View some of their menu here:
