Ami Nicole ACRONYM (legal name Amy Cooper) has been professionally photographing concerts since 2015.
Starting her origins in club photography for the famed Grasshopper Underground in Metro Detroit, she was engrained in the Electronic scene from the word go, and was able to photograph legends right out of the gate from around the world. This, coupled with her press coverage of Movement Electronic Music Festival in Detroit since 2014 launched her into the Live Music Photography scene in Detroit, Michigan.
In 2016, she began branching out to anything under the Rock genre, and by 2017, she had photographed major players like Rob Zombie, Halestorm, Bob Seger, Greta Van Fleet, and A Day To Remember. Tapping into festivals like Mo Pop Festival in Detroit, she also was able to start dabbling in the Rap genre, collecting heavy hitters like Run The Jewels and G-Eazy to her catalog.
While the pandemic slowed down the music industry, once restrictions lifted, she catapulted into weekly concert coverage with ACRONYM ZINE, the publication she founded years prior. To date, she’s photographed over 300 artists, and shows no signs of stopping.
Some of her favorite accolades include being hired by PR to photograph acts like The Offspring, NOFX, Our Lady Peace, Good Charlotte, and Asking Alexandria, being one of the press representatives in the pit for My Chemical Romance’s triumphant return to the music industry in 2022, and being hired by hardcore band Show Me The Body to photograph their sold out Detroit show in 2023.
Her work has been featured in High Times Magazine, as well as on countless social media profiles for major market artists, and across 60+ radio stations in the U.S.
